Narrater: (Jabir bin Abdullah) Hadidth No: (580)

My father was martyred on the day (of the battle) of Uhud, and he was in debt. His creditors demanded their rights persistently. I went to the Prophet (and informed him about it). He told them to take the fruits of my garden and exempt my father from the debts but they refused to do so. So, the Prophet did not give them my garden and told me that he would come to me the next morning. He came to us early in the morning and wandered among the datepalms and invoked Allah to bless their fruits. I then plucked the dates and paid the creditors, and there remained some of the dates for us.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(24)

Or have they chosen other gods beside Him? say: Bring your proof of their godhead. This is the Reminder of those with me and those before me, but most of them know not the Truth and so they are averse.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(23)

He will not be questioned as to that which He doeth, but they will be questioned.

Narrater: (Jabir bin Abdullah) Hadidth No: (579)

I went to the Prophet while he was in the Mosque. (Mis'ar thinks, that Jabir went in the forenoon.) After the Prophet told me to pray two Rakat, he repayed me the debt he owed me and gave me an extra amount.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(22)

If there were therein Gods beside Allah, then verily both the heavens and the earth had been disordered. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, from all that they ascribe unto Him.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (578)

The Prophet owed a camel of a certain age to a man who came to demand it back. The Prophet ordered his companions to give him. They looked for a camel of the same age but found nothing but a camel one year older. The Prophet told them to give it to him. The man said, ''You have paid me in full, and may Allah pay you in full.'' The Prophet said, ''The best amongst you is he who pays his debts in the most handsome manner.''

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (577)

A man came to the Prophet and demanded a camel (the Prophet owed him). Allah's Apostle told his companions to give him (a camel). They said, ''We do not find except an older camel (than what he demands). (The Prophet ordered them to give him that camel). The man said, ''You have paid me in full and may Allah also pay you in full.'' Allah's Apostle said, ''Give him, for the best amongst the people is he who repays his debts in the most handsome manner.''

Or have they chosen Gods from the earth who raise the dead?

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(20)

They glorify Him night and day; they flag not.

Narrater: (Hudhaifa) Hadidth No: (576)

I heard the Prophet saying, ''Once a man died and was asked, What did you use to say (or do) (in your life time)?' He replied, I was a business-man and used to give time to the rich to repay his debt and (used to) deduct part of the debt of the poor.' So he was forgiven (his sins.)'' Abu Masud said, ''I heard the same (Hadith) from the Prophet.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(19)

Unto Him belongeth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who dwell in His presence are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they weary;

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (575)

A man demanded his debts from Allah's Apostle in such a rude manner that the companions of the Prophet intended to harm him, but the Prophet said, ''Leave him, no doubt, for he (the creditor) has the right to demand it (harshly). Buy a camel and give it to him.'' They said, ''The camel that is available is older than the camel he demands. ''The Prophet said, ''Buy it and give it to him, for the best among you are those who repay their debts handsomely. ''

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (574)

Allah's Apostle said, ''If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would not please me that it should remain with me for more than three days, except an amount which I would keep for repaying debts.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(18)

Nay, but We hurl the true against the false, and it doth break its head and lo! it vanisheth. And yours will be woe for that which ye ascribe unto Him.

Narrater: (Abu Dhar) Hadidth No: (573)

Once, while I was in the company of the Prophet, he saw the mountain of Uhud and said, ''I would not like to have this mountain turned into gold for me unless nothing of it, not even a single Dinar remains of it with me for more than three days (i.e. I will spend all of it in Allah's Cause), except that Dinar which I will keep for repaying debts.'' Then he said, ''Those who are rich in this world would have little reward in the Hereafter except those who spend their money here and there (in Allah's Cause), and they are few in number.'' Then he ordered me to stay at my place and went not far away. I heard a voice and intended to go to him but I remembered his order, ''Stay at your place till I return.'' On his return I said, ''O Allah's Apostle! (What was) that noise which I heard?'' He said, ''Did you hear anything?'' I said, ''Yes.'' He said, ''Gabriel came and said to me, Whoever amongst your followers dies, worshipping none along with Allah, will enter Paradise.' '' I said, ''Even if he did such-and-such things (i.e. even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse)'' He said, ''Yes.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(17)

If We had wished to find a pastime, We could have found it in Our presence - if We ever did.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (572)

The Prophet said, ''Whoever takes the money of the people with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on his behalf, and whoever takes it in order to spoil it, then Allah will spoil him.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(16)

We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in play.

Narrater: (Al-Amash) Hadidth No: (571)

When we were with Ibrahim, we talked about mortgaging in deals of Salam. Ibrahim narrated from Aswad that Aisha had said, ''The Prophet bought some foodstuff on credit from a Jew and mortgaged an iron armor to him.''

And this their crying ceased not till We made them as reaped corn, extinct.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(14)

They cried: Alas for us! Lo! we were wrong-doers.

Narrater: (Jabir bin Abdullah) Hadidth No: (570)

While I was in the company of the Prophet in one of his Ghazawat, he asked, ''What is wrong with your camel? Will you sell it?'' I replied in the affirmative and sold it to him. When he reached Medina, I took the camel to him in the morning and he paid me its price.

Narrater: (Rafi bin Khadij and Sahl bin Al Hathma) Hadidth No: (569)

Allah's Apostle forbade the sale of Muzabana, i.e. selling of fruits for fruits, except in the case of Araya; he allowed the owners of Araya such kind of sale.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(13)

But it was said unto them: Flee not, but return to that existence which emasculated you and to your dwellings, that ye may be questioned.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (568)

The Prophet allowed the sale of the dates of the Araya for ready dates by estimating the former which should be estimated as less than five Awsuq or five Awsuq. (Dawud, the sub-narrator is not sure as to the right amount.)

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(12)

And, when they felt Our might, behold them fleeing from it!

Narrater: (Jabir bin Abdullah) Hadidth No: (567)

The Prophet forbade the sales called Al-Mukhabara, Al-Muhaqala and Al-Muzabana and the selling of fruits till they are free from blights. He forbade the selling of the fruits except for money, except the Araya.

How many a community that dealt unjustly have We shattered, and raised up after them another folk!

Now We have revealed unto you a Scripture wherein is your Reminder. Have ye then no sense?

Narrater: (Zaid bin Thabit) Hadidth No: (566)

The Prophet permitted selling the dates of the Araya for ready dates by estimating the amount of the former (as they are still on the trees).

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(9)

Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (565)

The Prophet said, ''One of the rights of a she camel is that it should be milked at a place of water.''

Narrater: (Anas) Hadidth No: (564)

The Prophet decided to grant a portion of (the uncultivated land of) Bahrain to the Ansar. The Ansar said, ''(We will not accept it) till you give a similar portion to our emigrant brothers (from Quraish).'' He said, ''(O Ansar!) You will soon see people giving preference to others, so remain patient till you meet me (on the Day of Resurrection).

We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals.

Narrater: (Husain bin Ali) Hadidth No: (563)

Ali bin Abi Talib said: ''I got a she-camel as my share of the war booty on the day (of the battle) of Badr, and Allah's Apostle gave me another she-camel. I let both of them kneel at the door of one of the Ansar, intending to carry Idhkhir on them to sell it and use its price for my wedding banquet on marrying Fatima. A goldsmith from Bam Qainqa' was with me. Hamza bin Abdul-Muttalib was in that house drinking wine and a lady singer was reciting: ''O Hamza! (Kill) the (two) fat old she camels (and serve them to your guests).'' So Hamza took his sword and went towards the two she-camels and cut off their humps and opened their flanks and took a part of their livers.'' (I said to Ibn Shihab, ''Did he take part of the humps?'' He replied, ''He cut off their humps and carried them away.'') Ali further said, ''When I saw that dreadful sight, I went to the Prophet and told him the news. The Prophet came out in the company of Zaid bin Haritha who was with him then, and I too went with them. He went to Hamza and spoke harshly to him. Hamza looked up and said, Aren't you only the slaves of my forefathers?' The Prophet retreated and went out. This incident happened before the prohibition of drinking.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(7)

And We sent not as Our messengers before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not?

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (562)

Allah's Apostle said, ''No doubt, you had better gather a bundle of wood and carry it on your back (and earn your living thereby) rather than ask somebody who may give you or not.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(6)

Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them though We sent them portents: would they then believe?

Narrater: (Az-Zubair bin Al Awwam) Hadidth No: (561)

The Prophet said, ''No doubt, one had better take a rope (and cut) and tie a bundle of wood and sell it whereby Allah will keep his face away (from Hell-fire) rather than ask others who may give him or not.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(5)

Nay, say they, these are but muddled dreams; nay, he hath but invented it; nay, he is but a poet. Let him bring us a portent even as those of old who were God's messengers were sent with portents.

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(4)

He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

Narrater: (Zaid bin Khalid) Hadidth No: (560)

A man came to Allah's Apostle and asked about Al-Luqata (a fallen thing). The Prophet said, ''Recognize its container and its tying material and then make a public announcement about it for one year and if its owner shows up, give it to him; otherwise use it as you like.'' The man said, ''What about a lost sheep?'' The Prophet said, ''It is for you, your brother or the wolf.'' The man said ''What about a lost camel?'' The Prophet said, ''Why should you take it as it has got its water-container (its stomach) and its hooves and it can reach the places of water and can eat the trees till its owner finds it?''

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (559)

Allah's Apostle said, ''Keeping horses may be a source of reward to some (man), a shelter to another (i.e. means of earning one's living), or a burden to a third. He to whom the horse will be a source of reward is the one who keeps it in Allah's Cause (prepare it for holy battles) and ties it by a long rope in a pasture (or a garden). He will get a reward equal to what its long rope allows it to eat in the pasture or the garden, and if that horse breaks its rope and crosses one or two hills, then all its foot-steps and its dung will be counted as good deeds for its owner; and if it passes by a river and drinks from it, then that will also be regarded as a good deed for its owner even if he has had no intention of watering it then. Horses are a shelter from poverty to the second person who keeps horses for earning his living so as not to ask others, and at the same time he gives Allah's right (i.e. Rakat) (from the wealth he earns through using them in trading etc.,) and does not overburden them. He who keeps horses just out of pride and for showing off and as a means of harming the Muslims, his horses will be a source of sins to him.'' With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see it?

Al-Quran- Sura No(21), Ayat(2)

Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play,

Narrater: (As-Sab bin Jaththama) Hadidth No: (558)

Allah's Apostle said, No Hima except for Allah and His Apostle. We have been told that Allah's Apostle made a place called An-Naqi' as Hima, and Umar made Ash-Sharaf and Ar-Rabadha Hima (for grazing the animals of Zakat).

Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (557)

The Prophet said, ''There are three types of people whom Allah will neither talk to, nor look at, on the Day of Resurrection. (They are): 1. A man who takes an oath falsely that he has been offered for his goods so much more than what he is given, 2. a man who takes a false oath after the Asr prayer in order to grab a Muslim's property, and 3. a man who with-holds his superfluous water. Allah will say to him, ''Today I will with-hold My Grace from you as you with-held the superfluity of what you had not created.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(135)

Say: Each is awaiting; so await ye! Ye will come to know who are the owners of the path of equity, and who is right.

Narrater: (Ibn Abbas) Hadidth No: (556)

The Prophet said, ''May Allah be merciful to the mother of Ishmael! If she had left the water of Zam-Zam (fountain) as it was, (without constructing a basin for keeping the water), (or said, ''If she had not taken handfuls of its water''), it would have been a flowing stream. Jurhum (an Arab tribe) came and asked her, May we settle at your dwelling?' She said, Yes, but you have no right to possess the water.' They agreed.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(134)

And if we had destroyed them with some punishment before it, they would assuredly have said: Our Lord! If only Thou hadst sent unto us a messenger, so that we might have followed Thy revelations before we were thus humbled and disgraced!

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (555)

The Prophet said, ''By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, I will drive some people out from my (sacred) Fount on the Day of Resurrection as strange camels are expelled from a private trough.''

Narrater: (Sahl bin Sad) Hadidth No: (554)

Once a tumbler (full of milk or water) was brought to Allah's Apostle who drank from it, while on his right side there was sitting a boy who was the youngest of those who were present, and on his left side there were old men. The Prophet asked, ''O boy ! Do you allow me to give (the drink) to the elder people (first)?'' The boy said, ''I will not prefer anybody to have my share from you, O Allah's Apostle!'' So, he gave it to the boy.

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(133)

And they say: If only he would bring us a miracle from his Lord! Hath there not come unto them the proof of what is in the former scriptures?

Narrater: (Abdullah bin Umar) Hadidth No: (553)

Allah's Apostle said, ''A woman was tortured and was put in Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked till it died of hunger.'' Allah's Apostle further said, (Allah knows better) Allah said (to the woman), You neither fed it nor watered when you locked it up, nor did you set it free to eat the insects of the earth.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(132)

And enjoin upon thy people worship, and be constant therein. We ask not of thee a provision: We provided for thee. And the sequel is for righteousness.

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(131)

And strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoy, the flower of the life of the world, that We may try them thereby. The provision of thy Lord is better and more lasting.

Narrater: (Asma' bint Abi Bakr) Hadidth No: (552)

The Prophet prayed the eclipse prayer, and then said, ''Hell was displayed so close that I said, O my Lord ! Am I going to be one of its inhabitants?'' Suddenly he saw a woman. I think he said, who was being scratched by a cat. He said, ''What is wrong with her?'' He was told, ''She had imprisoned it (i.e. the cat) till it died of hunger.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(130)

Therefor O Muhammad, bear with what they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord ere the rising of the sun and ere the going down thereof. And glorify Him some hours of the night and at the two ends of the day, that thou mayst be well pleased.

Narrater: (Abu Huraira) Hadidth No: (551)

Allah's Apostle said, ''While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine. So he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him.'' The people asked, ''O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?'' He replied, ''Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate.''

Al-Quran- Sura No(20), Ayat(129)

And but for a decree that had already gone forth from thy Lord, and a term already fixed, the judgment would have been inevitable in this world.

Narrater: (Urwa bin Az-Zubair) Hadidth No: (550)

An-Ansari man quarrelled with Az-Zubair about a canal in the Harra which was used for irrigating date-palms. Allah's Apostle, ordering Zubair to be moderate, said, ''O Zubair! Irrigate (your land) first and then leave the water for your neighbor.'' The Ansari said, ''Is it because he is your aunt's son?'' On that the color of the face of Allah's Apostle changed and he said, ''O Zubair! Irrigate (your land) and withhold the water till it reaches the walls that are between the pits around the trees.'' So, Allah's Apostle gave Zubair his full right. Zubair said, ''By Allah, the following verse was revealed in that connection'': ''But no, by your Lord They can have No faith Until they make you judge In all disputes between them.'' (4.65) (The sub-narrator,) Ibn Shihab said to Juraij (another sub-narrator), ''The Ansar and the other people interpreted the saying of the Prophet, Irrigate (your land) and with-hold the water till it reaches the walls between the pits around the trees,' as meaning up to the ankles.''
